This is a Douglas Laing bottling of single grain from Cambus, part of their Xtra Old Particular series. XOP is their ultra-premium range, launched in 2013 and reserved for casks considered the "family jewels."
With more than three decades in a refill hogshead have leant this spirit a sweetened stewed-fruit character. Combined with sweet cereal notes and savoury, woody spice, this all makes for a beautifully-balanced, richly-flavoured and rewarding whisky.
