The Cambus distillery dates back to the early 1800s - it was opened in 1836 in a village that shares its name near Alloa. Here it quietly produced its whiskies, becoming one of the first members of the Distillers Company Ltd. Unsurprisingly, this is also the oldest ever official bottling of Cambus. Aged in refill American oak hogsheads, just 1,812 bottles have been produced.
The first official bottling of Cambus since at least the turn of the 20th century, this 40 year old was released as one of the headline bottles of 2016. Classic grain whisky notes are balanced by huge fruity character, giving one of the best grains for 2016.
